I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and I am one of four AASECT Certified Sex Therapist in Alaska. I have been a resident of Alaska since 1993. I obtained my Bachelor’s of Arts in psychology from the University of Alaska Anchorage and I earned a Master’s of Science in Clinical Psychology from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2009.
For the past 7 years, I have worked with children, families, and young adults from various backgrounds and life situations. I am trained in dealing with a wide range of complex issues such as; trauma, depression, anxiety, and developing healthy relationships. Prior to my therapy career, I served 8 years as a medic and paratrooper in the United States Army. I understand the complexities and the issues that are unique to our armed service members and their families.
Human sexuality has always been one of my passions. My relaxed demeanor helps clients feel safe and comfortable enough to explore aspects of their sexuality without feeling judged or embarrassed, as this can be a difficult subject to discuss at times. No matter your religion, sexual identity, sexual expression, or sexual orientation, I strive to provide a sex-positive space to restore intimacy and pleasure into your sexual life.
As a therapist, I believe that lasting change comes from the inside. I view therapy to be a collaborative approach to help individuals and couples navigate difficult situations and to discover their inner strength and potential.
